Onitsuka Tiger Lay Up 72

Onitsuka Tiger re-introduce an archival model with their Lay Up 72. Innovative at the time, the Lay Up 72’s defining characteristics were the coming together of both nylon and vulcanized production. The 2010 releases are based off of some originals taken from the Onitsuka Tiger headquarters dating back almost 40 years ago. The ability to handle the original style gave the current design team the change to reproduce the sneakers accurately. The bulky toebox features asymmetric front foxing tape and select branding over the upper. A handful of different colors are available now at select retailers across Europe.

Nike Dunk Low “Incredible Hulk” Customs

Nike Dunk Low carrying a theme inspired by none other then Dr. Bruce Banner, also known as the Incredible Hulk. As the story goes Bruce Banner was accidentally exposed to a test detonation of a gamma bomb he invented which has caused him at times, usually when he gets mad, to involuntarily transform into the green, raging giant known as the Hulk. For his Hulk inspired Dunks Chrisco started off with a pair of White on White Low’s and painted the tongue, toe box, mid-panel and ankle panel all Green to match the Hulk’s body color. Purple denim with rugged edges was then fastened around the frontal, heel, and on the lace panels to present the Hulk’s ripped purple pants from the Marvel Comic series. Black felt was then stitched up on the Nike Swoosh and on the heel tab which includes “HULK” in Green embroidery, and a Marvel Comics logo was then worked onto a pair of tongue tags for the sneakers. The upper itself is no doubt a well executed design but what really helps wraps up these customs for me is the sole swap Chrisco did taking the sole unit from a pair of Earthquake Nike Dunks and incorporating it onto the Dunk Low to bring forth the cracked rock/cement pattern that the Incredible Hulk is usually associated with.

DC LIFE Preview at MAGIC Trade Show

MAGIC, one of the world’s largest fashion trade events hosted by the Men’s Apparel Guild is currently taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Apparel companies and footwear companies alike packed up and filled the Las Vegas Convention Center and Las Vegas Hilton to the brim to give consumers and industry insiders an exclusive first hand look at some of the products they’ll be releasing throughout the year.

Unfourently we weren’t able to attend MAGIC this year but luckily our friends over at Rugged Sole have their buyer/team leader attending the event and have sent us over some pictures to check out, which we’re of course gonna share with you. For starters Rugged Sole supplied us with images of some of the sneakers DC LIFE has lined up to release in the coming months. Shown in the photos are some new colorways of the DC Admiral, the Admiral Sport and some sort of other model which I’m personally not familiar with. I’m defiantly look forward to those Admiral Sport releases (the model with the ankle strap).

Gourmet L’Cinque – Black Nubuck & Honey Epi Leather

Like Greedy Genius, Gourmet Footwear was once labeled by consumers as a company ripping off silhouettes released by one of the top players in the game, Jordan Brand. Such a thing can no longer be said as Gourmet releases some of the most exceptional creations in the luxury footwear department such as the L’Cinque shown here in two new versions arriving at select Gourmet distributors. One features a Black nubuck upper with Black leather trim and White contrast stitching. The other one sports a somewhat more sophisticated, high end look with an upper fabricated from a rich Honey Epi Leather. Both are matched with matching laces and countered with a cream colored sole.

PRO-Keds Royal Plus x Stussy x Haze

PRO-Keds was delighted to work with graffiti artist, Haze and clothing brand, Stussy on one of its consistent models, the Royal Plus. This canvas-based shoe owns a detailed polka dot and asterisk pattern design silkscreen-printed on the upper with solid Black rubber toe cap and White rubber sole. A cloud-framed Stussy label appears on the tongue as it recognizes Haze and Stussy’s efforts. This Royal Plus is available in Grey, Brown, and Off-White colorways that comes with a especially-designed box featuring Haze and Stussy logos as also seen on the sneaker’s insole.

A Bathing Ape Bape Sta Mid – Doc Marten Inspired – Spring/Summer 2010

A Bathing Ape has been notorious for their unabashed use of established ideas and media icons for their line of footwear and apparel – the Nike Air Force 1 silhouette being the first that comes to mind. This time the crew over at the Bape camp decided to combine the AF1 Mid with another classic that was the Euro-rocker craze of the 70s (and later on the feet of high-schoolers in the 90s). Check out this trio of new colourways of the Bape Sta Mid, inspired by the Doc Marten boot; the yellow stitching on the midsole and deep and rich-colored leather uppers being the points of interest. Each pair has a elongated height-wise heel-tab that spans the entire rear of the shoe, reading ‘APE SHALL NEVER KILL APE’.

adidas Originals A.039 Collection – Full Back – White

It seems no matter how many A.039 collection drops we see, none of them will really feature that colour. In fact, the only royal blue on this pair of adidas Originals Full Back hightops is the inside of the tongue tag. So, your shins will get the satisfaction of the little secret they’re hiding, but everyone else will see your rocking one of the freshest white-on-whites this season.

adidas SLVR Spring 2010 Footwear Collection

You think somebody at adidas would have done the research and found out that SLVR was a meh of an outdated candybar cellphone. Well, the adidas SLVR collection for spring 2010 is far more up-to-date than your grandpa’s RAZR, featuring sleek lines on an array of lifestyle sneaker designs.

The collection is divided amongst tonal purple, silver and black pairs, with three designs to choose from. There’s a SLVR 119 hightop, SLVR 102 Light Runner, and the premier of the SLVR 128 New Lace Up, which almost looks to have velcro straps, at a glance. Click the jump below for the whole set and check for these at adidas SLVR boutiques and/or online.

Nike SB – March 2010 Collection @ Flatspot

January and February was owned by Jordan Brand and Nike Basketball, but March could very well go to the Nike SB camp. All of the March Nike SB releases keep it simple and clean, like the Green Leaf Nike SB Bruin – a great alternative if you’re unwilling to shell out nearly two bills for the Green Supreme Bruins. A black/white Bruin is also avaiable, as well as Brian Anderson’s second Nike Dunk SB and a grey/red/blue Nike SB Dunk High that we previewed last month.

Nike HTM2 Run Boot TZ – Detailed Look + Release Info

The Nike HTM2 Run Boot is more than just a new-age sports boot, it is the culmination of efforts built up from years of radical ideas and visions of four of the greatest minds in footwear history. The sneaker Dream Team of Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield, Mark Parker, and Mark Smith collaborated to produce a revolutionary ankle boot that combined classic style and new-age functionality, as they did with the Nike HTM Woven Boot in 2002.

The Nike HTM2 Run Boot, which Nike deems as “Born on the Track, Bred for the Street”, features a Nike Free grooved sole and a lightweight, water-repellant, four-way-flexibile upper while holding onto traditional Chelsea-boot design cues like the pull tabs and elastic gullet. The Run Boot Low arrives in four great colourways while the High comes in just one volt/anthracite color, and each features a protective toe-cap and a swoosh in a never-before-seen spray-stenciled design. The Nike HTM2 Run Boot is a Tier Zero release and will be available only in Japan and at 21 Mercer on February 20th and March 1st. Check out the collection of detailed images after the jump.

Nike SB Dunk High – Chrome Ball Incident/’Enigma’ – New Images

So we have some clarification on these upcoming Nike SB Dunk Highs, but they still really are an ‘Enigma’. What we do know is that these brownish-yellow kicks are sporting a pair of scissors on the outer wings to shout out the old school practice of chopping down hightops into more skateable mids. Apparently, the shoe was designed by 80s skate legend Neil Blender, and there’s some tie to vintage skate blog Chrome Ball Incident.

Nike Air Royal Mid Textile – Cool Grey – Wolf Grey

Not too long ago we reported a few interesting colourways and textures of the Nike Air Royal Mid, like the Tonal Purple Royal Mid that appeared as if it was molded from a block of purple clay. If that didn’t really interest you, peep this new colourway of the Royal Mid in two tones of grey. The color combination seems particularly fitting for the shoe that was inspired by the Air Jordan 1 and other classic Nike Mids, and the toe box area looks to be iridescent under lightning while maintaining the concreteness of a solid dark grey color.

Vans Classics Chambray Pack – March 2010

Now that streetwear’s ‘grown up’ and gone all cut-and-sew on us, it’s only a matter of time before chambray makes a big splash. The linen-like cotton fabric (we’d forgive you for thinking it’s just an Air JordanVII Retro) is getting some shine on a new pack of Vans Classics that includes Old Skools, Eras and Sk8-His. The chambray cloth covers the side panels, while canvas touches come in on the toes and heel areas. Looks like each pair will drop in black or blue, so check your local Vans retailer.

Converse – Product (RED) – Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model Launch

If you’ve been following up on our coverage of other brands, you’d know that Converse Skate is ollie-ing up the ladder for 2010. Over two months ago, Sneaker News presented images of Anthony Pappalardo’s lowtop pro model with Converse Skate; on Tuesday, Converse hosted a get-together at NYC’s Arturo’s pizzeria to celebrate the launch of the Converse (RED) Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model. Friends and family present at the event received a gold miniaturized rendition of the shoe in the form of a keychain. The shoe will be available at select skate-shoe retail spots like Skate Park of Tampa, Supreme, KCDC, and more

Nike Air Max Skyline – Dark Grey – Vibrant Yellow – Anthracite – Available on eBay

Lance Armstrong’s charity has had such an impact that whenever we see black and yellow kicks, we’re not thinking “Pittsburgh Steelers” or “Wu-Tang” any more. This pair of Nike Air Max Skylines is sure to draw comparisons to the extensive and ever growing Nike x LIVESTRONG arsenal, although its actually part of the Athletics West collection despite the color scheme similarities. With these Skylines, the addition of healthy portions of grey balances out the otherwise harsh contrast and makes them more streetwear-friendly.

Nike Air Structure Triax 91 – White – Electric Green – Blue Sapphire – Available

We saw previews of these a while back, and there haven’t been many other colourways released since then. But the Nike Air Structure Triax 91 is back for ‘1-0 in a Sprite-like palette that is sure to get alot of attention this spring. The mix of white leather and nylon should keep your feet cool, and the blue and green accent hits would compliment a wide variety of warm-weather styles.

Air Jordan 2010 Black / University Blue – New Images

We showcased the Black/University Blue colorway of the Air Jordan 2010 back in early January and many of you expressed that this pair is much better than the “Bred” AJ 2010 that recently released. We now have a few more images to share just in case you are still on the borderline with Jordan Brand’s newest signature sneaker. This colorway hosts a black leather upper with university blue accents seen on the inner lining, stitching, tongue, and midsole, while the toebox and rear of the sneaker are decked out in black patent leather. The outsole of this Air Jordan 2010 comes in a clean, translucent blue color.

Nike Air Force 1 – Black History Month 2010

In 2007, Nike released an Air Max 90 in celebration of Black History Month. In 2008 and 2009, an Air Force 1 was released in the month of February to commemorate Black History Month. This time around, Nike has decided to stay with the Air Force 1 silhouette, and it features a black leather base accented by a red outsole, green midsole stripe, black patent leather swoosh with green stitching, and green/red stripes on the tongue. Another key aspect of this sneaker is the embossed text which reads, “The definition of a renaissance individual: one who possesses a multitude of skills, talent and a broad base of knowledge.” The “Black History Month 2010″ Air Force 1 is now beginning to arrive at select Nike retailers.

Air Jordan VI “Detroit Pistons” – Release Information

This time around, news regarding the “Air Jordan of 2010″ consists of some release information. While we’ve already seen the black/varsity red AJ VI as well as the recently dropped Motorsports pair, Detroit Pistons fans could very well be looking forward to this one the most. Pictured here is the Air Jordan VI “Detroit Pistons,” which has been set for an April 17th release later this year. This sneaker comes with an upper that consists of both black suede and black patent leather. Color accents come by way of red and blue along the sole and part of the heel. Enjoy more pictures of this shoe after the jump, as you decide for sure whether or not this AJ VI is a must-have.

Project LV | CAVIAR CARTEL x SSUR x DC Fall 2010 Preview

While at Project LV, we dropped by the DC booth and grabbed a sneak peek at the next installment in SSUR’s on going series. The CAVIAR CARTEL colors are inspired by SSUR’s russian roots. Black represents the black market trade of caviar, while the red shoe represents the soviet iron curtain.

Nike SB 2010 Spring Dunk Hi Premium

We get a closer look into one of the newer Dunk Hi’s from the Nike SB program. Rumored to be inspired by the whacked out sweaters of Bill Cosby aka Dr. Huxtable from The Cosby Show, the kicks take on a white/black platform with multi-colored textile paneling. Available now through select Nike SB accounts, including Primitive.

Nike Sportswear x Nunca Brazil Team Kit

Inspired by Incan symbolism and a primitive style of graffiti called “Pixação,” Sao Paolo street artist Nunca crafted a unique Brazilian kit that connects the people of the favelas to the sport they hold dear. Five stars within the otherworldly, eye-like crest symbolize Brazil’s five championship wins, and Nunca’s hieroglyphic handwriting and pattern (lining the hoodie) connects the kit to the ancients in a modern way

Air Jordan 1 “Future Sole” Edition

The fellas over at Crooked Tongues give us a peek into this year’s version of the Air Jordan “Future Sole”, a sneaker designed in conjunction with the Future Sole competition held by Nike every year. Below we have a more detailed account behind the design process.

adidas Originals x Originals “kzklot” Collection Superstar 80s

As part of the ongoing adidas Originals by Originals designer collection, we take a look into an upcoming footwear offering on behalf of Kazuki Kuraishi and Hong Kong’s CLOT. Originally previewed last month, the shoe at hand is adidas’ iconic lifestyle model and one-time hardwood classic, the Superstar. With a concept of prodiving a functionally breathable shoe for the hot summers, the upper is constructed of black mesh. Look for the shoe to hit select adidas Originals by Originals retailers this season.

SAWA Sneakers

SAWA sneakers are born from the energy of African cobblers who are challenging the traditional North/South industrial flow (raw materials from Africa transformed elsewhere into finished goods). SAWA sneakers are made in Africa with materials from Africa. SAWA is more than a brand. It is a project whose ambition is to set the foundations of a sustainable economy, thanks to a product enriched in value from local genuine know how. SAWA sneakers find their vintage inspiration from the omnipresence of second hand cloths sent from developed countries and input into the African economy. To tease the thousands of containers entering daily in African countries and strongly influencing the local “fashion”, their sneakers have started the inverse journey towards the “western” markets.

Vans Aleeda Classic White

The Vans Aleeda is a pretty new design to us, and we aren’t quite sure if we have ever seen it before, a part of us wants to think that we have seen it somewhere before, while the other part of us thinks that we may be thinking of another, similar shoe. We think that this may be a design that has been previously marketed more towards the European sneaker market.

Either way, if you are a fan of the Vans Era or the Vans Authentic, then you may be able to get into this one as it is somewhat similar although features some subtle differences. These shoes are predominantly white on the upper but features trim of dark blue on the mid panel flaps and around the ankle area. There is also a matching dark blue pinstripe running around the length of the midsole. These ones are available now.

Nike Blazer AC – White/Green

Since the release of the Nike Blazer AC, also known as the Nike Blazer Velcro Low, a lot of our readers seem to be on the fence when it comes to the style of the shoes. While many of you love the simple color schemes you tend to have a little bit of an issue with the straps Nike used to replace the laces referring to the design as “a pair of Blazers for senior citizens who can no longer bend over to tie their shoes.” While we can defiantly relate to your feelings on this one we can’t just stop posting the sneakers. I mean that’s our job isn’t it? To keep the public informed on what’s out there. Which is why we’re posting up another Blazer AC for all your to pass judgment on. This time it’s a simple white/green version which uses white throughout most of the sneakers with hits of green applied to the Swoosh, toe cap and outlining around the Nike branding on the heel tab.

If your able to look past the straps and accept these as nothing other then a fresh pair of Blazer’s head on over to DrJays now to get yourself a pair for $70.

Nike Dunk High “Die, Die, My Darling” Customs

When it comes to custom sneakers the team over at Royalefam is defiantly on top of their game. Not only does the brand put together some of the wildest customs but they do so in quantities, making more then just 1 pair and allowing multiple consumers with deep pockets the chance to get their hands on a pair.

Doing a little something for Valentines Day the crew at Royalefam put together the “Die, Die, My Darling” Nike Dunk which to say the least isn’t your usual Valentines Day release. According to Royalefam “Die, Die, My Darling is a Bloody Valentine love story featuring the legendary pin-up girl of the Memphis Belle B-17F flying fortress warplane, Sawtooth nose art, red rival camo, bullet hole print and Valentine blood rose.” The Valentine blood rose graphic is evident on the heel of the left sneaker with the words Dead End Girl printed in white just below it. The Memphis Belle B-17 flying fortress pin-up girl is seen used on the wing of the right sneaker laying in a pool of blood with a bullet hole graphic giving you story that this poor girl has been murdered in cold blood. Not the Valentines Day present she was expecting I would imagine.

Defiantly an interesting pair of sneakers. Not something I think I would wear, but as a collectors piece these are pretty dope and you can’t knock the detailed artwork Royalefam put into these and each pair produced. Keep in mind that this design was replicated on a few sneakers. It’s hard enough to do it on one, nevermind a multitude of em.

A total of 16 pairs of the Nike Dunk High “Die, Die, My Darling” Customs have been produced, with each pair individually numbered and costing $650. If your feelin em and you can front that kind of money for a pair of custom sneakers get yourself a pair now through Royalefam, otherwise follow the break to check out some detailed photos of the shoes.

Nike Air Force 1 Mid ‘07 – White/Club Purple

When it comes to my Uptowns nothing beats a classic and cool color scheme which keeps it simple. A white base accented with just a slight hit of a secondary color is simple as can be but yet so fresh and crispy. I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the AF1 Mid but this White/Club Purple Air Force 1 Mid ‘07 is exactly what I’m talking about. A solid white base is highlighted by hits of Club Purple on the Swoosh, inner lining, heel tab and on the outsole. The AIR stamp and pinstripe detailing on the mid-sole are also finished in Club Purple. You can’t go wrong with white and purple color combo, specially when you mash it up with the Purple/Silver Money V New Era cap which is available now at Vault along with the sneakers.

Cop yourself a pair now and hold on to em for a couple months until the warmer weather rolls around. These would defiantly make for a nice pair of kicks for the Spring days we’re all looking forward to.

Greedy Genius Epi Low Preview

As they are known to do Greedy Genius is consistently raising the bar and setting standards in the luxury sneaker department and this year in 2010 you can expect nothing else from them. This year the brand will be launching a variety of new models, such as the silhouette previewed here, the the Epi Low. The shoes feature top of the line textiles such as Epi leather (a popular leather used by Louis Vuitton) and perforated nubuck. A one piece cupsole is reinforced and styled with the full top stitching on the rear and upper panels, and what are known as “Gill” panels are seen extending up above the laces.

No release details are available at this time for the Greedy Genius Epi Low and all we have right now in terms of photos is this solo shot provided by Hypebeast. Greedy Genius is scheduled to be at S.L.A.T.E. next week in Las Vegas so hopefully some more photos of the sneakers will surface soon. We’ll be sure to provide you with whatever details follow

Nike Air Max LeBron VII “6ucci” Customs

During a game against the Miami Heat back in November 2009, Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers saw his idol Michael Jordan sitting in the stands and made a decision right then and there. If the NBA wasn’t going to retire Jordan’s number he was going to do whatever he could to start a movement getting those wearing the number 23 to give it up in honor of his Airness. Lebron even vowed to lead the charge by dropping his #23 next season for the #6, his Olympic number.

In light of this news 1OF Customs took the opportunity to customize an Air Max Lebron VII with representation of the #6 Lebron plans to wear. Dubbed “6ucci” 1OF Customs gave the sneakers a Gucci-esque color scheme of Green/Red/Black and incorporated a pattern of black 6’s throughout the diamond pattern created by the Flywire upper. Simply done buy yet very effective. With or without the 6’s the Lebron VII doesn’t look half bad in a Gucci colorway.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Black History Month 2010 Pic Preview

Last night during the Cavaliers vs. Miami game on TNT, EJ, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith officially unveiled the Black History Month Nike Air Force 1 and varsity jacket. I'll have much more on the sneaker soon. For now, enjoy the pic preview.

Nike Air Rift | White / Black / Orange

This past week, we have been reporting about the return of the Nike Air Rift, posting to Original looks one in blue / yellow and the other in Kenyan colors. Now we have a look at a third color combo to release of the sneaker that first released in 1995 as an attempt to create barefoot experience modeled after Kenyan runners. The third colorway comes in white and black with orange accents in a traditional neoprene build. You can find these now in Tokyo at atmos.

Nike Dunk High Premium “Olympics” / European Release

Last month, we reported the release of the Nike Dunk High in an Olympic colorway inspired by the US national team. Today, we have some more detailed images of the sneaker and notice that they have now surfaced in Europe, specifically at Stockholm based Caliroots.

The kicks are constructed in a mix of leather and textiles in an upper that mixes between obsidian leather and white with gold and red accents. The kicks also rest on a gold midsole, which rests on a red outsole.

Air Jordan 1 Alpha Quickstrike “Tinker Hatfield” Edition

The Air Jordan 1 Alpha is an updated version of the classic Air Jordan, which turns 25 this year. Given Tinker Hatfields strong ties to the Air Jordan line, he has hooked up the Alpha in a colorway of his choosing. The kicks come in an off-white upper, black detailing and orange lining and contrast stitching, resting on what appears to be a semi-translucent sole. The kicks are set to release as a Quickstrike at LA based Undefeated on the 15th of February. Check your local sneaker shops for availability.

Android Homme Propulsion II Zinc Metal

Adroid Homme is a lesser known brand, but is gaining popularity as they continue to release unique designs. They first introduced the Propulsion II silhouette as part of their holiday 2009 collection, and here we feature a new colorway that is available at their online store. The shoe features an ultra high top design, and have been dubbed the Zinc Metal, obviously because of the eye-catching colorway. The upper is constructed from leather, and sits atop a classic white sole.

Vans Vault Sk8-Hi Standard Issue LX Red

We first previewed this colorway as part of a set of Vans Sk8-Hi Standard Issue LX’s, and have new information to bring to you about its availability. This pair sports a construction that is more durable that the original Sk8-Hi, along with a red suede, upper, silver laceholders, and a classic white sole. They are available online at the Vans store and retail for $70.

Gourmet Sedici for Spring

Gourmet’s line-up continues to intrigue us, as here we feature two new colorways in the Gourmet Sedici model, both of which are slated to release for this Spring. The first features a red canvas upper, while the second also sports a canvas design, but in a tan colorway. Both sit atop white soles, with the NFN logo placed on the tip of the tope. Look for them to release soon.

Adidas Trefoil Hi

First glance, it looks like a bunny but that is how the Adidas Trefoil Hi’s collar was designed and it is called the Trefoil claw. This high cut shoe resembles the classic Adidas Stan Smith with clean solid premium leather upper. It displays the 3 Stripes logo around its antagonistic collar while Adidas branding appears on the tongue and midsole. The Adidas Trefoil Hi is available in Grey/Neon Green and White/Silver colorways.

Vans Chukka Boot x Crooks & Castles

The Chukka Boot from Vans was chosen to be Crooks & Castles’ subject for collaboration. A special treatment from textured Black premium leather in a wood grain design was applied on the ankle and heel panels while plain Black leather covered the toe area. Eyelets come in Black except for the top pair which is done in metal that simply goes with the Vans logo on the ankle, chain link C and castle logo on the tongue, and of course the vulcanized rubber sole. This will drop at the Melrose and Sunset Crooks stores in LA.

Air Jordan 1 Phat Premier

The Air Jordan 1 Phat Premium arrives in two monochromatic colorways - Royal Blue and Varsity Red. Both are distinguished with the ornamental stitching embroidered particularly on the toe box and midfoot. The upper was basically made up of pebbled leather with White inner liner, Jumpman logo, and outsole.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Dunkman

Jeremy Scott once again took the hot seat and applied his skill on the Nizza Hi. This time he utilized a curtain accessory - the tassel, which he put up eight of those on the collar. The upper likewise uses the same traditional suede with leather 3 Stripes on the side panel. This Nizza Hi comes in bright Blue/White and Black colorways.
